Bristol BSL Forum
The British Crime Survey estimates that 80% of rapes and sexual assaults go unreported in this country and even where they are reported only a very low percentage result in a conviction. In 2008 the Safer Bristol Partnership focussed on this serious violent crime that has a disproportional impact on women and produced a strategy that the Forum and the Safer Bristol Partnership were keen to hear views on. In addition we have a new Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) in Bristol, alongside the succesful newly established Rape Crisis Centre. In 2008 women were invited to the Forum Annual General Meeting (AGM) to have a say on how we can best deliver these crucial services for women in Bristol.
In the second part of the AGM the Forum reported back on activities and presented its work programme for the coming year. This was followed by the election of Advisors and Co-optees. Childcare and travel expenses are always be reimbursed against a receipt for our Open Forums and AGM’s.
The AGM 2008 took place on Wednesday 21st May 2008, 7-9pm at Council House, College Green, Bristol BS1 5TR
